<p><strong>Featured Speaker: Andrew Gillum</strong></p>

<p>Andrew Gillum was born in Miami, Florida, the son of a school bus driver and a construction worker.&nbsp;He attended Florida A&amp;M University as a political science major and was the first in his family to graduate college.</p>

<p>At the age of 23, Gillum went on to become the youngest person in history elected to the Tallahassee City Commission, before later becoming mayor. In 2018, he made history as the first African American gubernatorial nominee in Florida.</p>

<p>Within his career, Gillum has received various honors and accolades. In 2004, he was named to&nbsp;<em>Ebony</em>&nbsp;Magazine&#39;s &quot;Fast Track 30 Leaders Who Are 30 and Under.&quot; In 2007, he was recognized as an Emerging Leader of the month by IMPACT and subsequently became their inaugural Emerging Leader of the Year during the Congressional Black Caucus Annual Legislative Conference in September 2007. Gillum was named as a &quot;2010 Emerging Leader&quot; by&nbsp;<em>Essence</em>&nbsp;Magazine.</p>

<p>Following his historic run for governor, Gillum was honored as one of the Ebony Power 100 and named a 2019 Resident Fellow at the Institute of Politics at Harvard Kennedy School.</p>
