636623 news 1593539343 1593704061 <![CDATA[School of Economics Introduces New Minor - Microeconomics of Strategic Analysis (MESA)]]> Microeconomics of Strategic Analysis (MESA) is designed around microeconomic theory courses pertaining to strategic decision making. Students will learn advanced tools pertaining to the economics of strategic decision-making. The tools covered with the MESA minor are foundational for understanding issues in a wide variety of settings, including, but not limited to: business analytics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, energy system transformation, transportation design and management, health care design and delivery, networks, and industry competition.

The core courses for MESA incorporates Advanced Micro (ECON 3110) and Game Theory (ECON 4180), while the list of electives includes Math for Economic Modeling (ECON 4170), Economic of Strategy & Information (ECON 4340), Economics of Industrial Competition (ECON 4340), Network Economics (ECON 4360) and Behavioral Economics (ECON 400). Only three electives are required for the minor.
