The drive is being promoted as a "Battle of the Bands" — a competition between the marching bands at Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech. 

For more efficient processing, Red Cross representatives are strongly urging donors to schedule an appointment in advance. No appointment is necessary, but those who have scheduled appointments will have priority.
