{"642147":{"#nid":"642147","#data":{"type":"news","title":"Human Resources and Professional Education Partner to Strengthen Lifelong Learning Opportunities for Tech Employees","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EMembers of the Georgia Tech Human Resources (GTHR) and Georgia Tech Professional Education (GTPE) leadership teams\u0026nbsp;met\u0026nbsp;last\u0026nbsp;month\u0026nbsp;to finalize\u0026nbsp;a structural\u0026nbsp;change\u0026nbsp;that will\u0026nbsp;have\u0026nbsp;a\u0026nbsp;lasting\u0026nbsp;impact\u0026nbsp;on professional development for\u0026nbsp;staff and faculty\u0026nbsp;across\u0026nbsp;Georgia Tech.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EWorkplace Learning \u0026amp; Professional Development\u0026nbsp;(WLPD), a department that facilitates\u0026nbsp;learning opportunities\u0026nbsp;for\u0026nbsp;Georgia Tech employees,\u0026nbsp;has transitioned from GTHR to GTPE,\u0026nbsp;the Institute\u0026rsquo;s lifelong\u0026nbsp;learning arm,\u0026nbsp;consolidating all professional learning under one unit\u0026nbsp;in\u0026nbsp;alignment with the Institute\u0026rsquo;s strategic\u0026nbsp;focus on\u0026nbsp;efficiency and\u0026nbsp;workforce\u0026nbsp;development.\u0026nbsp;The organizational shift went into effect December 1.\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026ldquo;We saw a clear opportunity to align with\u0026nbsp;the\u0026nbsp;Institute\u0026rsquo;s\u0026nbsp;strategic plan\u0026nbsp;and lead\u0026nbsp;by example\u0026nbsp;to create a culture of deliberate innovation specifically in our learning practices,\u0026rdquo; said Kim D.
