Layering the two substantially improves the fit of the surgical mask, which can reduce aerosols by about 95%. Another way to improve a surgical mask\u0026rsquo;s fit is to knot the ear loops and then tuck in and flatten the extra material close to the face.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EAdditionally, the\u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/2019-ncov\/vaccines\/fully-vaccinated-guidance.html\u0022\u003E CDC issued new guidance\u003C\/a\u003E for those who have been fully vaccinated, meaning it\u0026rsquo;s been more than two weeks since they received both doses of a two-dose vaccine or one shot of a one-dose vaccine. Fully vaccinated people:\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cul\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EDo not have to quarantine after being exposed to Covid-19, as long as they continue not to show any \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/2019-ncov\/symptoms-testing\/symptoms.html\u0022\u003Ecoronavirus symptoms\u003C\/a\u003E.\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003ECan visit with other fully vaccinated people indoors without masks and physical distancing.\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003ECan visit with unvaccinated people from a single household who are at a low risk for severe Covid-19 disease indoors without masks and physical distancing.\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\u003C\/ul\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EFully vaccinated people should still continue to take precautions when in public or around people who are at \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/2019-ncov\/need-extra-precautions\/index.html\u0022\u003Eincreased risk\u003C\/a\u003E for severe illness with Covid-19, including wearing a well-fitting mask, physical distancing, and avoiding medium- to large-sized gatherings.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EWhile this new guidance does not constitute any changes to campus protocols at this time, all students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to continue to wear a mask, get tested at least once a week, and physically distance themselves from others. Masks are still required inside all campus buildings, except for one\u0026rsquo;s own dorm room or suite, as stated in the University System of Georgia\u0026rsquo;s \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/www.usg.edu\/coronavirus#updated_guidance_on_age_underlying_medical_conditions_use_of_face_coverings\u0022\u003ECovid-19 policies\u003C\/a\u003E. Even when walking around outside, the CDC still encourages wearing masks when others are around.
