{"648868":{"#nid":"648868","#data":{"type":"news","title":"Undergraduate Summer Spotlight: Stefanny Arcos","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EStefanny Arcos is a rising third-year student majoring in economics with a minor in \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.cc.gatech.edu\/minor-computing-media\u0022\u003Ecomputing and media\u003C\/a\u003E\u0026nbsp;and a certificate in \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/www.scheller.gatech.edu\/degree-programs\/undergraduate\/courses-curriculum\/curriculum-finance.html\u0022\u003Efinance\u003C\/a\u003E.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EOver the summer, she has been taking three economics classes at Georgia Tech, with her\u0026nbsp;favorite being sports economics with\u0026nbsp;Thomas Woodbury. \u0026quot;I have enjoyed taking sports economics, because it has been very engaging and has given me a different perspective on how economics impacts our everyday lives,\u0026quot; said Arcos.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EAround campus, Arcos\u0026nbsp;works\u0026nbsp;as a building supervisor at the Campus Recreation Center (\u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/www.crc.gatech.edu\/\u0022\u003ECRC\u003C\/a\u003E) and as a student assistant for the \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/oue.gatech.edu\/\u0022\u003EOffice of Undergraduate Education\u003C\/a\u003E for their \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/sites.gatech.edu\/gtfya\/\u0022\u003Efirst-year fall abroad program\u003C\/a\u003E.\u0026nbsp;\u0026quot;I have loved working at the CRC, because I am constantly surrounded by the GT community and have enjoyed getting to know my peers outside of a classroom setting,\u0026quot; she said.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EOutside of classes and work, Arcos enjoys\u0026nbsp;traveling when possible and visiting places in Atlanta, like the High Museum\u0026nbsp;of Art. Recently, she drove\u0026nbsp;to Tennesee with friends to explore Nashville, a city she had never seen before.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003ESoon, Arcos\u0026#39;s travels will be international. In mid-August, she\u0026nbsp;will travel to Santa Maria, Brazil, to pursue work for her church. Arcos plans to explore the community and help where needed while also researching how global religious norms impact the community and Brazil\u0026rsquo;s changing religious landscape.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cem\u003ELet\u0026rsquo;s connect!
