NNSA will hold a\u0026nbsp;\u003Cstrong\u003EPre-proposal Conference\u003C\/strong\u003E\u0026nbsp;on\u0026nbsp;\u003Cstrong\u003EMarch 14-15, 2018\u003C\/strong\u003E\u0026nbsp;in\u0026nbsp;\u003Cstrong\u003EMinneapolis, MN\u003C\/strong\u003E\u0026nbsp;for interested representatives from U.S. institutions to learn about the next ASC academic program. The three major focus areas of the new ASC Alliance program will be:\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cul\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EDevelopment and demonstration of technologies and methodologies to support effective Exascale computing in the context of science\/engineering applications;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003E\u0026ldquo;Predictive Science\u0026rdquo; based on verification and validation and uncertainty quantification for large-scale simulations;\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EDiscipline-focused research needed both to further predictive science and enable Exascale computing.\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\u003C\/ul\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026nbsp;At the conference, NNSA ASC program managers will present the new scope and requirements of the next ASC Alliance program and articulate the technical areas of interest that will form the basis for the new program. In addition, the meeting will afford academic institutions an opportunity to provide oral comments and feedback on the upcoming Request for Information.\u0026nbsp;\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\n\u0026nbsp;\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\nBecause of the interdisciplinary nature of this opportunity, the Strategic Energy Institute is collaborating with other IRIs and academic units to ensure Georgia Tech\u0026#39;s capabilities and expertise are deployed on this initiative.
