She then completed her vascular surgery residency at Northwestern University in 2021. She has also earned certification in interpreting vascular ultrasound (RPVI).\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EDr. Hekman runs a basic science laboratory with a primary research focus on stem cell-based regenerative medicine for treating vascular disease.
