Alumni Spotlight: 2022 Distinguished Alumni Award Winner Rachael Lammers

Rachael Lammers, M.S. INTA 2007, is the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs’ 2022 Distinguished Alumni Award winner. She serves as the chief of staff to the CEO of Resilience, a manufacturing and technology company that works to prevent disruption in biopharmaceutical supply chains and increase access to complex medicine.

Lammers received the award at the Ivan Allen College Distinguished Alumni Award on April 7. She told us more about her life post-graduation and the significance of being recognized by her alma mater.

What’s your favorite part of your current role?

I really enjoy solving people and process challenges at scale in an organization that is tackling life changing solutions in global health.

How do you think your Georgia Tech international affairs education prepared you to succeed?

Studying international affairs at Georgia Tech provided me with a universal skill set.

What’s something that surprised you about post-graduation life?

There is no “great person” who's going to solve the problem or find a new solution, just good people that try hard to do great things.

What work of yours has made you particularly proud?

I’m proud of all of the civil service that I’ve been able to do throughout my career.

What does it mean to you to receive this award?

It reminds me that it's not all about succeeding on a prescribed path, it's about using what you have to pursue a journey where you can be impactful and fill up your joy bucket along the way.

What’s one piece of advice that you have for students who are graduating this semester?

There is no linear path… open your horizon to unusual career possibilities early.

Can students interested in pursuing a similar field reach out to you?

Yes.
