The new\ngraduate companies will be recognized during ATDC\u2019s annual Startup Showcase,\nwhich begins at 1:30 in Technology Square.\u003C\/p\u003E\n\n\u003Cp\u003E\u201cWith nine companies, this is the largest group of graduates\nwe\u2019ve had at ATDC since 2002,\u201d noted Stephen Fleming, a Georgia Tech vice\npresident and executive director of the Enterprise Innovation Institute, ATDC\u2019s\nparent organization.\u0026nbsp; \u201cThis year\u2019s graduates represent the breadth of\nGeorgia\u2019s technology community, from medical devices and health information\ntechnology to Internet services, media and industrial controls.\u201d\u003C\/p\u003E\n\n\u003Cp\u003EThe new ATDC graduates are:\u003C\/p\u003E\n\n\u003Cul\u003E\u003Cli\u003EBLiNQ Media, which provides Facebook advertising\noptimization;\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EClearleap, which enables television service\nproviders to stream Internet video over existing broadband networks;\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EIconic Therapeutics, a biopharmaceutical company\ndeveloping treatments for macular degeneration;\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EMedShape Solutions, a medical device company\napplying shape-memory materials to orthopedic treatments;\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EPlayON! Sports, the nation\u2019s leading high school\nsports media company;\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003ESentrinsic, which is developing fluid control\nproducts for industrial applications;\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003ESoloHealth, which develops and deploys kiosks\nfor free health screening and information;\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EVelocity Medical Solutions, a company developing\nan FDA-cleared oncology information platform, and\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EWorthPoint, the world\u2019s largest source of value\ninformation on art, antiques and collectibles.\u003C\/li\u003E\u003C\/ul\u003E\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\u003Cp\u003EAs it moved into its fourth decade during 2010, ATDC\nassisted more than 400 Georgia technology startups, and those companies\ngenerated capital activity \u2013 venture investment and merger\/acquisition value \u2013\nof more than $157 million.\u0026nbsp; Companies\nassociated with the ATDC, including the incubator\u2019s graduates and companies\ncurrently in the program, provided nearly 3,500 jobs during 2010 and recorded\nrevenues of more than $1 billion.\u003C\/p\u003E\n\n\u003Cp\u003EThe VentureLab process that is part of ATDC evaluated 125\nGeorgia Tech research innovations during 2010 and helped form 16 new companies\nbased on them.\u0026nbsp; Two of this year\u2019s\ngraduates \u2013 Medshape Solutions and Sentrinsic \u2013 were assisted by the VentureLab\nprogram.\u003C\/p\u003E\n\n\u003Cp\u003EDuring 2010, \u003Cem\u003EForbes\u003C\/em\u003E\nMagazine named ATDC to its list of the \u201cten technology incubators that are\nchanging the world.\u201d\u0026nbsp; ATDC was the only\nincubator in the Southeast to be included on the \u003Cem\u003EForbes\u003C\/em\u003E list.\u003C\/p\u003E","summary":null,"format":"limited_html"}],"field_subtitle":"","field_summary":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EGeorgia Tech\u2019s Advanced Technology Development Center (ATDC) will graduate nine technology companies on May 9, bringing to 135 the number of early-stage technology firms it has helped launch and build since 1986.
