<p>Dr. Lieberman will speak on "How to Write About Sex, Tech, and Food: From Academia to Journalism." &nbsp;<br />

Here is her description of her planned remarks:<br />
In this talk I describe how I present my research to both academic and popular audiences, and I explain how to pitch articles to popular periodicals. &nbsp;<br />
&nbsp;<br />
Hallie Lieberman is a historian and journalist. She received a PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in mass communication and wrote the book <em>Buzz: A Stimulating History of the Sex Toy</em>, based on her dissertation. Her writing has appeared in <em>The New York Times</em>, <em>Washington Post</em>, <em>Vice</em>, <em>Wired</em>, <em>Smithsonian</em>, <em>BuzzFeed News</em>, and other publications. She’s also been published in academic journals. She’s currently working on a book on the history of gigolos. &nbsp;</p>
