In this talk I describe how I present my research to both academic and popular audiences, and I explain how to pitch articles to popular periodicals.
Hallie Lieberman is a historian and journalist. She received a PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in mass communication and wrote the book Buzz: A Stimulating History of the Sex Toy, based on her dissertation. Her writing has appeared in The New York Times, Washington Post, Vice, Wired, Smithsonian, BuzzFeed News, and other publications. She’s also been published in academic journals. She’s currently working on a book on the history of gigolos.
