Upon graduation, he took a position in Midland, TX with Occidental Petroleum Corporation (Oxy), one of the largest oil and gas companies in the United States. He subsequently obtained a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, with a specialization in Power and Energy Systems from the New Jersey Institute of Technology. He is currently employed by Oxy\u2019s Onshore Resources and Carbon Management (ORCM) business unit as a Senior Electrical Engineering Advisor. His professional interests include power system protection, relaying, and SCADA.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003E\u003Cem\u003ECarlos Ramirez Franco (Mgr Electrical)\u003C\/em\u003E\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003ECarlos Ramirez Franco obtained his BSEE from the Polytechnic University Institute of the National Armed Forces (IUPFAN) in Venezuela and a Postgraduate Diploma in Electrical Industrial Installations from Sim\u00f3n Bol\u00edvar University (USB) in Venezuela. Carlos is a professional engineer in Alberta, Canada. He is Senior Member of IEEE and he has published a few technical paper papers in the Electrical field previously, 2 of them for an IEEE international conference.
