The Wellness Empowerment Center has partnered with Happy Tails to bring Pet Therapy to the greater Georgia Tech community. Pet Therapy is a form of Animal-assisted therapy. This modality of therapy offers the greater GT community the ability to reduce stress and anxiety increased calmness, decreased loneliness, improve social supports, and achieve a greater sense of belonging, while promoting an overall sense of well-being for participants.
By joining us at a pet therapy event, you will engage in restorative stimulation, conversation, companionship, and sensory gratification. Smiles and laughter are also great medicine. At the pet therapy event, the greater Georgia Tech community will have the opportunity to pet and play with therapy dogs.
