While physical quantities are precise, when digitized\u0026nbsp;and inserted into a computer or a digital system, they are rounded to the nearest representative value. This process introduces\u0026nbsp;quantization\u0026nbsp;error, i.e.,\u0026nbsp;noise. This talk will introduce how to deal with digital systems where\u0026nbsp;quantization\u0026nbsp;is applied using statistical description of the process. Furthermore, fixed-\u0026nbsp;and floating-point\u0026nbsp;quantization\u0026nbsp;will be also addressed. Finally, some examples will be shown where\u0026nbsp;quantization\u0026nbsp;play\u0026nbsp;an\u0026nbsp;important rol\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EBio:\u003C\/strong\u003E Dr. Zsolt Koll\u00e1r is currently a Fulbright scholar in electrical\u0026nbsp;engineering\u0026nbsp;at Kennesaw State University (KSU). He is also\u0026nbsp;an associate professor at the Budapest University of Technology\u0026nbsp;and Economics (BME) where he serves as the head of the MATLAB Laboratory. Previously he was a visiting researcher at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. He is responsible for the maintenance\u0026nbsp;and development of the Fdident (Frequency Domain Identification Toolbox) MATLAB Toolbox.
