      <value><![CDATA[<p>The objective of the proposed research is to design, build and test a single stage 3ϕ-3ϕ Isolated Inertialess Converter (IIC) for industrial motor drive systems.&nbsp;Conventional industrial motor drive systems use bulky, expensive line frequency drive isolation transformers and external filters. &nbsp;The 3ϕ-3ϕ IIC integrates high frequency isolation and filtering, which dramatically reduces industrial motor drive system size and costs.&nbsp;This proposal explains the principle of operation of the 3ϕ-3ϕ IIC. Key challenges of the IIC are discussed, along with its modulation and control. Simulation results of simultaneous input current and output voltage control, V/f control, and unity power factor control validate the viability of the 3ϕ-3ϕ IIC for motor drives. Future work is outlined to solve key IIC design challenges and implement the 3ϕ-3ϕ IIC in hardware.</p>
