Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering at Georgia Tech and Emory presents a special seminar with \u0026nbsp;Morten Jensen, associate professor of cardiothoracic and vascular surgery as well as biomedical engineering at\u0026nbsp;University of Aarhus in\u0026nbsp;Denmark.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EAfter graduating with his Masters of Science in\nBiomedical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology in 2000, Morten\nworked with National Instruments in the Business Development and Consulting\nServices groups. In 2005, he relocated to Denmark and received the PhD degree\nin Medicine from the University of Aarhus in 2008, and is currently employed at\nthe Dept. of Biomedical Engineering and Cardiothoracic \u0026amp; Vascular Surgery\nat the University Hospital of Aarhus, Denmark. Morten\u2019s research focus is on\nexperimental cardiac surgery and he teaches engineering courses in the fields of\nhemodynamics, biofluids, cardiovascular modelling, biomechanics, medical instrumentation\nand virtual instrumentation. The results obtained from his research group are\ncurrently used in FDA guidelines for heart repair devices. He is appointed to the\nDanish Academy of Engineers and has won several prices for his work: In 2008 he\nreceived the Danish Society of Engineers Honorary Award of Excellence.
