Representing the School of Building Construction and the School of Architecture, the three GTF award recipients will give an overview of their recent research in the designed and built environments using information technologies.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EDr. Baabak Ashuri\u003C\/strong\u003E is an assistant professor in the School of Building Construction. His current research focuses on the identification and evaluation of flexible technologies and systems for sustainable buildings and the development of real option models for the financial assessment of highway projects under traffic uncertainty. He holds a PhD in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EDr. Javier Irizarry\u003C\/strong\u003E is an assistant professor in the School of Building Construction. His research focuses on developing next generation technology enhanced solutions to construction environment problems by incorporating the cognitive processes of the human component of construction operations. Dr. Irizarry holds a Ph.D. in Construction Engineering and Management from Purdue University.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EProfessor Gernot Riether\u003C\/strong\u003E is an assistant professor in the School of Architecture. His research focuses on using digital technologies to improve architecture\u2019s relationship to a natural, built and social environment. He holds a Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University and a Diplom Ingenieur in Architecture from the University of Innsbruck.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cem\u003EThe College of Architecture in partnership with the Georgia Tech Library and Archives hosts a monthly research series entitled the COA Research Forum. Held on the last Thursday of each month in which school is in session, a COA faculty member, research scientist, or student talks about his\/her research. \u003C\/em\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cem\u003EThe purpose of the series is to provide an informal forum for members of the Georgia Tech community to present their work, explore ideas, and identify opportunities for collaboration. The talks are free and open to the public.
