However, the early dynamics of immune cell recruitment into the nascent lesion are not fully understood. We combined a novel, disturbed flow mouse model of atherosclerosis with state-of-the-art FACS methods to quantify immune cell recruitment in developing plaques. We show that immune cell numbers peak prior to plaque development, while inflammation in the lesion increases progressively.\n\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n\n\n\n\u003Cbr \/\u003EThe Graduate and Post-Doc (GaP) Seminar Series is a weekly event of biotechnology related research presentations by two graduate students or post-docs of IBB and is co-sponsored by BME.
