Bernstein\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003EAs vice president of Industry Insights and Alliances, Harvey M. Bernstein leads the company\u2019s thought leadership and green building initiatives and manages its market research group and partnerships with industry associations. Harvey speaks globally on construction industry and green building trends and has moderated and presented hundreds of speeches and written numerous papers covering innovation and technology, residential and commercial construction, energy efficiency, disaster mitigation, BIM, industry forecasts, and sustainability in the built environment. He is a member of The McGraw-Hill Companies\u2019 Sustainability Business Development Board and is recognized as a creative thinker who is sought by clients to participate in strategic brainstorming sessions.\u003Cbr \/\u003EHarvey was a key member of the team that launched McGraw-Hill Construction\u2019s award-winning GreenSource: The Magazine of Sustainable Design, and he co-authored the book Solving the Innovation Puzzle: Challenges Facing the U.S. Design and Construction Industry. In addition, he created the MHC global SmartMarket Report series on key industry trends on such topics as Building Information Modeling (BIM), public private partnerships, retrofit and renovation, water efficiency, industry productivity and innovation, cities of the future, and sustainability in the built environment.\u003Cbr \/\u003EPrior to joining McGraw-Hill Construction, Harvey served as president and chief executive officer of the Civil Engineering Research Foundation (CERF) and the International Institute for Energy Conservation (IIEC), where he managed offices and business development in South Africa, Europe, China, India, Philippines, and Thailand. Harvey serves as co-chair of the National Building Museum\u2019s Industry Council for the Built Environment; is a member of the Princeton University Civil \u0026amp; Environmental Engineering Advisory Council; and Underwriter laboratories Environment, Inc. Advisory Council.
