The first involves the development of tools for pharmacological \nvalidation of novel drug targets in cancer signaling and \nneurodegenerative diseases. In particular, we have been investigating \nprotein-targeting strategies for disrupting the Wnt signaling pathway in\n cancer. Dissecting novel protein-protein interactions that regulate Wnt\n signaling enhances our understanding of the pathway at a molecular \nlevel, and enables development of targeted therapeutics against it. The \nsecond focus area in our lab is the development of chemical tools for \nmonitoring protein posttranslational modifications in single cells. For \nexample, we recently developed fatty acid analogues for imaging \nmyristoylated and palmitoylated proteins.
