When it Takes Three to Tango: Ternary Design Paradigms for Sensors and Inhibitors

The central motivation of our research program is to develop methodologies that have the potential for illuminating chemistry in a biological context. Towards his goal, I will describe new paradigms for designing supramolecular protein and peptide architectures that can serve as:

I)Turn-on split-protein sensors that are designed to respond to a variety of macromolecular targets. Our current targets include DNA, RNA, and proteins/enzymes.

II) Bivalent Inhibitors for selectively targeting protein surfaces, particularly protein kinases.
